The Envy CG Department has recently worked with Viasat to produce an animated film to promote their new Viaplay internet TV service. Working with Senior Viasat Producer Billy Chan, the CG team created robotic characters that whiz behind a curtain where they crash about, assembling something kept out of sight by the drop cloth. As the robots finish their work, they zoom out of frame and the sheet drops to reveal the shiny new Viaplay logo.

The project was built in Maya and XSI Syflex was used to create the cloth simulations.

Envy audio engineer Arge enhanced the character of each of the robots with bespoke sound design. The challenge here was to create an individual character for each of the robots that would compliment the CG animation.
