We were also involved in three of the nominations in the International Best Documentary on a Contemporary Theme, with ‘Children of the Tsunami’ (Renegade Pictures for BBC Two), ‘The Life and Loss of Karen Woo’ (Century Films for ITV1) and ‘Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields’ (ITN for Channel 4). ‘Graffiti Wars’ (Two Four for Channel 4), and ‘Rostropovich: The Genius of the Cello’ (ITN Productions for BBC Four), were both nominated for Best Arts Documentary. Furthermore, we posted two of the Best Science Documentary nominations: ‘Inside Nature’s Giants - Sperm Wale’ (Windfall Films for Channel 4) and ‘My Life as a Turkey’ (Passion Pictures for BBC Two). ‘Elizabeth Taylor - Auction of a Lifetime’ (Silver River Productions for Channel 4) was nominated for Most Entertaining Documentary, and Clare Johns has been nominated in the Best Newcomer Documentary category for ‘Panorama: The Truth about Adoption’ (Films of Record for BBC One).
