The ENVY Academy has continued to deliver support and career development opportunities for young people and students across the country, whilst also continuing to grow our internal talent into their chosen departments.

Academy on Tour

The 2024/25 academic year saw The Academy Tour visiting a wide range of colleges and universities across the country. Delivering introductions, masterclasses and careers advice, our team visited Liverpool John Moores University, Nottingham Trent University, Coventry University, London South Bank University, UCA, Canterbury Christ Church, Falmouth, MidKent College, and the colleges of Activate Learning. We look forward to continuing expanding our outreach in the 2025/26 academic year, which will allow us to introduce even more students to the world of post production.

In February, our team attended The RTS Futures Careers Fair at the Business Design Centre, London. The event is always a highlight on the Academy calendar and this year welcomed over 1100 attendees, all keen on starting their careers within the television industry.

There were over 35 employers in attendance across the industry including production companies, broadcasters, training providers and post houses. Our team spoke to hundreds of attendees and shared their advice on starting out in the industry, discussing post production and sharing details of our work experience scheme.

“The RTS Futures Careers Fair is always a special time of year for us. It provides an opportunity to showcase our work experience scheme while also offering valuable advice on breaking into the industry. We take great pride in our Academy, so any chance to connect with the community is something we truly value.”

Work Experience

At ENVY, the sharing of knowledge and skills between our staff is key. Our Work Experience scheme is an opportunity designed to give students and young people a taste of this unique environment, shadowing our Runner teams whilst training and observing different departments in action including production, technical and creative, whilst also developing real world skills.

Lila

“I was so impressed by the positive, collaborative and friendly work culture. The training that ENVY offers to work experience and the runners is so unique and really invaluable.”

Lucy

“Everyone was open to teaching me and talking about their experiences and giving advice. The training I received went beyond my expectations.”

Jenny

“Being able to shadow members of the team was the highlight of the experience as everyone I met was friendly and was happy to answer my questions.”
