9 February 2023

The Broadcast Awards are an annual celebration of the best Television over the past year and gathers all of the top broadcasters, talent and projects under one roof to celebrate. The Awards ceremony took place at the JW Marriott Grosvenor Hotel on Wednesday 8th February and it was great to see so many friends and colleagues from the industry.

Channel of the Year

A fantastic night was had by all and we loved celebrating the industry’s best programmes and talent from 2022. ENVY were sponsors of the Channel of the Year category, which was awarded to BBC One. Some of the highlights over the past year includes the coverage of the Funeral of HM Queen Elizabeth II and The FIFA World Cup in Qatar as well as a number of projects posted with us at ENVY. CEO Dave Cadle presented the award on stage to the team from BBC One – a big congratulations from everyone at ENVY!

The Real Mo Farah

The Real Mo Farah took the prize for Best Documentary Programme. The Atomized Studios project follows the London 2012 hero as he uncovers stories from his childhood and his journey to the UK as a young boy.

The Whistleblowers: Inside the UN

The Whistleblowers: Inside the UN also won the Best News/Current Affairs Programme. The documentary features accounts from United Nations Insiders, sharing what has happened when reports of wrongdoing are made by staff of the UN.

Congratulations to all of this years winners – we are so excited for what 2023 has in store!
