ENVY Netball and Football take on The Broadcast Fives

On Saturday 8th June, we took part in the latest edition of the Broadcast Fives, in support of the Film and TV Charity. We had teams entered into both the netball and football competitions coming up against other companies within film and television including production companies, post houses, suppliers and many more. The teams had a mix of experience and some new faces making up the squads which made for an exciting day of competition ahead.

Film + TV Charity

Five teams fought it out for the Netball Cup this year, playing each other twice in a round robin format. ENVY opened the days play by winning their opening game vs Game of Throws 6-5. Two hard fought defeats followed against Disney and Sunset & Vine. However, they bounced back with a 7-7 draw against Avalon going into the break in 3rd place with 10 points in the table.

In the afternoon session, ENVY once again beat Game of Throws before narrowly losing to Disney. That did not stop our team from picking up wins in their final 2 matches against Sunset & Vine and Avalon.

The team finished the afternoon in 2nd place with 26 points in the league which won them the Netball Plate!

The 22 team football tournament was filled with plenty of new teams. In a group of 5, the football team fought hard but missed out of qualifying for the cup competition.

In the afternoon, the team began their run in the Plate competition dispatching Disney 7-2. The game of the afternoon was the semi-final against EMG Gravity Media, where ENVY walked away 3-1 winners. Our final match was a closely fought match which fell the way of our opponents 3 goals to our 2, falling just short of the Plate trophy.
