On Saturday 17th June, we participated in the Broadcast Fives, making its return after a 6-year hiatus. The football and netball tournament brings together post houses, production companies, freelancers and suppliers from across the film and television industries for a day of sporting competition, all whilst raising money for The Film + TV Charity, a charity dedicated to supporting everyone in the industry through their support line, mental health and legal advice, to name some of the services they provide.

The ENVY team were out in force on what was a very warm day at the Shepherd’s Bush Powerleague, with ENVY being represented in the football and netball tournaments.
Our Netball team won 3 of their 6 group stage games, including some fantastic results against Not Fast Just Furious and BECTU. Their results meant they progressed to the Cup knockouts where they came up against eventual tournament champions, All3Media. A lot of positives can be taken away from what was a very successful tournament for the netball team.

The football team had been drawn into a very difficult group, which consisted of IMG Media, 247 Kit and Mindhouse. The team got off to a flying start, winning against Mindhouse but was unable to get the better of the group and finished 3rd in the Group Stage, resulting in a spot in the Plate Knockout tournament.

A good win in the round of 16 set us up with a quarter final clash against Expectation Entertainment, which is as far as we progressed this time around.

Our team had a great day out and we are thankful to our amazing staff who came along to support both of our teams on the day. We’d also like to thank the team at Shepherds Bush Powerleague for hosting us and to the Film + TV Charity for organising a fantastic tournament.
