David Preece
Online Editor
David began his post-production career at TMR, part of the VTR group, where he developed a strong passion for audio and led the Audio Restoration department. He then moved to Framestore as a Film Mastering Engineer, where he took on his first Online Editing work across film and television drama, including the BBC/HBO production ‘The No.1 Ladies Detective Agency’.
After a short career break to spend time with his young family, David joined ENVY’s MCR team before progressing into his current role as Online Editor. During his time at ENVY, he has worked on close to 1,000 episodes of ‘Pointless’. Other project highlights include ‘Russell Howard & Mum: Globetrotters’ and fast-turnaround current affairs programming such as ‘Dispatches’ and ‘Panorama’.
Recent projects include ‘Junior Bake Off’, ‘Olivia Attwood’s Bad Boyfriends Series 2’ and ‘The Piano’.
Outside of work, David enjoys building and making, including constructing a canoe which he took on a trip down the River Wye. He also 3D prints and paints his own miniatures, which he takes to board game tournaments. He enjoys watching films and series from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, quiz shows, and classic episodes of ‘Spooks’ with his daughter.
