Rioch’s initial degree was in web-design and web-coding, however he soon realised this wasn’t for him and instead decided to follow his music/audio passion and do a Masters in Audio Production.
In 2007, Rioch joined ENVY as a Runner but had no real knowledge of what TV post really was, he just knew audio was involved at some point. Whilst running he trained in the MCR and was soon promoted to an Audio Assistant. Back then it all revolved around tapes and tape decks so it was a fairly different job than it is today! During this time, he sat in with various tracklayers and mixers to learn exactly how the creative part of audio post worked. He eventually became a Tracklayer and Voice-Over Recordist.
To finally become a Dubbing Mixer, he volunteered to work weekends to mix a number of ‘Quick Turnaround’ current affairs programmes such a Dispatches and Panorama. Since then, he’s become a full time Dubbing Mixer working on a wide variety of shows from travel to dating to sitcoms.
In his spare time Rioch enjoys keeping fit, playing guitar and not getting killed on his bike on the way into work!
