Paul Fallon
Senior Colourist
Paul’s career in post-production began on January 1990 as a Runner. He had just finished a degree in Video Art and had a good idea which side of the camera he wanted to be on. After working his way up through the ranks, Paul was drawn to the online side of post as it offered more creative scope.
Once Symphony had become the prevalent Online tool, he discovered Colour Grading. After ten years as an Online Editor, Paul realised Grading was the way forward for him. His break came with the first series of The Apprentice. He was the Online Editor, however, after talking with the Producers, they decided to push the look more than was expected back in those days and the result really seemed to gel with people. People started to request him as the Colourist not the Online Editor and so transitioned into the next phase of his career.
Since then, Paul has worked on many wonderful and thought-provoking programmes. One of the first after joining ENVY was Morgan Matthews ‘The Fallen’, an astonishing three-hour film chronicling the experiences of families affected by the Afghan war. There also been series such as ‘Gold Rush’ and ‘Top Gear’ that have been global successes with audiences in the millions. More recently, Paul has worked on ‘Stanley Tucci’s Searching for Italy’. He finds it nice when his work combines with personal interest and in this case it’s anything food related. You’ll always find Paul in the kitchen at parties but probably going through the cookbooks.
